Yet most help is aimed at men who have higher visibility on the streets, women seem to be a bit of an afterthought. They’re less likely to stay in hostels for fear of sexual abuse and violence, preferring to hide in garden sheds or abandoned buildings.
St Martin in the Fields is converting one of its existing hostels into a women only refuge, a safe haven where their complex needs can be met. A place of safety, support and the offer of friendship.
We took the original logo and built a visual identity around it, commissioning Lauk Haus to create a series of illustrations to embody the hope and help this hostel would bring to women sleeping rough. We applied the look and feel to the website and built it. So far the campaign has helped raise £1.8 million for this life-changing project.
