Historically, there has been very little research and acknowledgment of the violence suffered by older women. Comic Relief, working with other support services are bringing this sensitive issue to light.
We created a report of the research with accompanying launch materials. We began by comparing a number of sector reports. Usually imagery tends to show women in silhouette or turned away from the camera, but we wanted to try something different. We used layers of newspaper imagery to create women’s faces making sure they didn’t quite align. This visual style illustrated the broken and shattered lives of these women. The result is a powerful and jarring set of images.
